My son is Captain America. Well, at least he is some days.
When he isn’t Spiderman.

Or Thor.

Or a hybrid of his favorite super heroes.

So on our last trip, we were of course sure to check out the newly opened Super Hero Headquarters store at Downtown Disney.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect from this store. Would it be full of high-priced limited edition prints? All of the Disney Store marvel toys we can get at our local mall? Kitschy goods only comic book nerds would love?
It turns out, it’s a little of everything.

You’ll find plenty of the Disney Store toys and costumes, but you’ll also find unique souvenirs like Spiderman Mickey ears and Marvel-themed Vinylmations.

There are also tee shirts and accessories for men, women, and children, and a super fun collection of books. Our favorites were the encyclopedias and, believe it or not, a pop-up book. It seems Disney knows it has fans like my little super hero that don’t actually watch a second of Marvel movies but still love the characters.

You can get all of the Disney Infinity characters that are available. And if you’re more of a villains fan? Don’t worry, they’ve got some Hydra stuff for you, too.

I think the coolest thing about the store though, is that it offers this kind of merchandise right alongside of things you may see in The Art of Disney, Uptown Jewelers, etc – “fancier” souvenirs like prints and paintings.

Even if you aren’t looking for a souvenir, the store is worth visiting. It’s set up as somewhere at S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters. Agent profiles and wanted posters hang throughout. You can even buy your own wanted poster or identification card.
Badges and secure doors commemorate the day the store opened, and other details are woven throughout the displays and decor.

If you’re up for it, you can get in on the action as your favorite S.H.I.E.L.D. agent or villain.
And if all you ever wanted was your very own dancing Groot? Well they’ve got you covered there, too.

Oh, I wish! It’s at Downtown Disney/Disney Springs at WDW. I’m curious to see what shows up in DTD Disneyland too!
