Earlier this week we got to check out Farkle, a great dice game from PlayMonster. {PlayMonster was so gracious to send us a sample of the game to check out in exchange for our honest experience and opinions}
One of my daughters had the world’s best luck with the dice… until someone else attempted a buzzer beater win.
Farkle is a great choice for families, especially because it is easy to learn and doesn’t take all night – even with three kids playing.
“Take a risk and keep rolling to build your score. Or play it safe so you don’t lose your points in a Farkle. It’s a fight to the finish in this fabulously fun game of strategy and luck!”
If your family enjoys Yahtzee, 10,000/Greed, Tenzi, or other dice games, this is a great one to try. When I posted a brief review on our Facebook page, I got several response from families that love it. My eight-year-olds caught on very quickly (even when one missed the instructions and practice round), but my four-year-old needed some help. I think it’s also a great option to work on math skills, the ideas of risk and reward, and strategy game play – while not relying solely on strategy, thereby making it difficult for children to win.
Check out our epic battle… and check out Farkle this weekend if you’re looking for something to do! (Also, don’t miss Nolan’s drawing. He was quite proud, as you’ll see…)) Play Monster has a whole selection of Farkle games, too. I think we’re looking to try Farkle Frenzy next. It looks like absolute chaos, in the best way!
