Welcome to the next stop on Blogorail Yellow! Today we are discussing Valentine’s Day crafts. Enjoy your visit!
Happy February! With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, my daughters and I are in the throes of the hunt for the perfect classroom Valentines. Since their first year in school (a 4-year-old preschool program), we have had a blast putting together fun treats for their friends at school. I love watching each of my girls choose something that suits her personality.
Here is a round-up of what we’ve chosen in the past —
“I love being silly with you!”
“You’re sweet!”
“You make my heart glow!”

… and some of the front-runners for this year! π
“Orange you glad we’re Friends” from Crafting in the Rain
“You Blow Me Away” from The Girl Creative
“You’re my Main Squeeze” from Funky Polka Dot Giraffe
“You’re Worth Melting For” from One Creative MommyΒ (aack! so cute!)
“You are Extra Special” from The Crafting Chicks
“Glad we’re in the same School” from I Heart Naptime
“Valentine, You Rule!” from Taryn Cox
“You Rock!” from Fiskars
“Bursting with Happiness that you’re my Friend” from Better Homes & Gardens
“Our class would Knot be the same without You” from Dandee Designs
“May the Force be with you” from Typical Suburban Family (I love the one with the glow stick!)
“Valentine, You are my Hero” from One Creative Mommy
This is hands down one of my favorite “school activities” each year. π I can’t wait for my kiddos to pick out their favorite so we can get to work on our labels/cards, but many of the links above have printables if you aren’tΒ into doing it yourself.
If you have little ones in school, do their friends send candy or is the trend switching more toward these kind of treats?

What cute Valentine ideas! Since we homeschool, we don’t have much opportunity to do Valentines, but I love that Yoda one so much I may have to make those for Ian to give out at church! LOL What a fun idea. I saw one that my older daughter would love the other day too – it said “You’re all that and a bag of chips” and you put it on a chip bag (obviously).

Oh, I love the chip idea! In all my internet scouring I didn’t see that one – how creative! I remember before my girls were in school we would take them to church, family, etc, too. Didn’t want to miss out on all the fun (of creating, forget the kids giving them! ;)).

Wow, these are such great ideas! Why didn’t they do this when I was a kid? LoL!
For the Love of Disney
I know! I think that’s probably why parents keep getting crazier and crazier, living vicariously through our little ones π

Mary at Capturing Magical Memories
Oooh! So many good Ideas. I really don’t like to send candy because you never know what the other Mom’s rules are. So that ruler is a COOL idea.
For the Love of Disney
That’s a really good point about other family’s rules. We know if/when we have allergies in the kids’ classrooms, but you’re right – what a bummer it would be for a kiddo to take home a treat only to be unable to have it.

Lisa @home is where the mouse is
Thank you for sharing non food Valentines! My daughter’s class is a no food zone and I’ve been racking my brain to try to come up with something cute and creative. I may do the glow sticks or the bubbles!
For the Love of Disney
I love the non-candy ideas, too! We are allowed sending food (and do sometimes) but my kids always love coming home with other little goodies π
