With the arrival of the too-cute-for-words “it’s a small world” 50th Anniversary site – and as I put together plans for my son’s second birthday party coming much too quickly – I figured what better time to share the fun we had at his “it’s a small world” themed first birthday party!

About a month after my girls turned one, I realized what a wonderfully fun party theme iasw would be. I’m pretty sure I started planning this one when my littlest was in utero, beginning with hundreds and hundreds of detailed “research” shots of the ride. Sadly, my grandiose ideas (immersive rain forests, giant wooden cutouts) didn’t all come to fruition (um, even a little bit)… but we still enjoyed ourselves ;)

Personalized directional signs (with balloons!) along the path to the park’s clubhouse

Multi-national greetings

Adorable “banner” all around the room with pictures of the birthday boy nearly rivaled in cuteness by the iasw cast

Various rainforest/jungle, floral, bold colored decor throughout

… and coloring pages for the littlest guests!
It was far from what I pictured in my head originally, but it still makes me smile – as does the source of inspiration. The ride has forever been a favorite of all five members of our family, and we thought it such a special way to celebrate our littlest!

Hi! This is my daughters first birthday theme where did you find the banner for pictures and the greetings?! They’re adorable!

And the personalized sign I absolutely love that!

Aww, I hope she has the best first birthday celebration! I designed the invitations, signs, etc on my own. The little people used for the banner were given to me by another blogger… but these days I imagine you could find something similar on Etsy! Best of luck in planning. Have fun!
