Oh, hey! Remember when I said that “Next week I’ll share some of my favorite podcasts?” Well let’s pretend that I said “Next month…”, and then I’m right on time. :)
I love podcasts. I’ve talked about it before, and I’m definitely back in a season of life where they’re almost all I listen to, even before we launched our own. I already rambled about how easily accessible they are and why you should listen, so I’ll jump right in. In a minute.
I also love reading a lot of non-fiction, but sometimes there just isn’t enough time to sit and read, amiright?! In case you didn’t read the last post about the format, I’ll recap:
- You can listen to podcasts while you do housework, workout, drive – do just about anything. For free.
- There are shows that are purely entertaining, and hundreds (thousands, perhaps) on any subject area in which you’d like to grow.
I have always said I’d have been a professional student if I had unlimited time and funds, but instead I have to settle for what I call a “lifestyle of learning”. Below are some of my favorite podcasts that I listen to regularly to satisfy my longing for learning without breaking the bank, as well as some of Kyle’s regular picks. They are in alphabetical order, because that’s how I have the list I’m looking at. :)
On religion, Christianity, and/or becoming the best version of me:
– 4 Corners Church… when I’m out of town or relisten to a message :)
– NewSpring Church Sermon Audio
– The Portfolio Life with Jeff Goins
– This is Your Life with Michael Hyatt
– What Did They Say Now? by Moody Radio
Purely for entertainment:
– The Best of Mike and Mike in the Morning
– ESPN: The BS Report with Bill Simmons
– Fantasy Focus Football Podcast
On podcasting (yes, there are lots of podcasts about podcasting. How inception-like of us…) :
– School of Podcasting’s Morning Announcements
On Leadership, Business, Productivity, Social Media, etc
– The 5 AM miracle with Jeff Sanders
– Get-It-Done Guy’s Quick and Dirty Tips
– Social Media Marketing Podcast
Then of course, the genre that started it all – the Disney podcast. You can find my favorites here!
I’ve rotated several titles in and out over time, but these are the ones that have lasted right now.
What are some of your favorites? What are you looking forward to in 2015? I think “Pitch” and “The Dinner Party Download” will make my rotation soon – they look intriguing!
